Recently PeacePundit reported that the US-led war in Afghanistan had passed the grim milestone of 1000 US soldiers killed.
At about the same time, on May 1, the combined US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan passed another unfortunate milestone: $1 trillion in expenses (see CostOfWar.com). That isn’t invested money; that’s money down the drain. At a time of financial distress in the US and world economy, this is mind-bogglingly wasteful.
To stimulate people to consider how the US government could have spent $1 trillion more wisely, documentary filmmaker Robert Greenwald has devised an online game, “What’s Your Trillion Dollar Plan?”, that lets you find more effective ways to spend $1 trillion. [Try game]
Greenwald also made a short video to mark the $1 trillion milestone. [View video]
