“There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.” — A.J. Muste
Humanity struggles so hard to advance. War takes us backwards. It kills children we have painstakingly raised and parents who have raised us. It destroys what we have created and built. It negates economic progress. There is nothing positive about war.
The never-ending conflict in the Middle East not only keeps the region from achieving its potential, but endangers the entire world. For the sake of humanity, that conflict must be resolved, peacefully and soon.
The U.S. wars against Iraq and Afghanistan were poorly conceived and have been even more poorly executed. The mess they created was completely predictable. They have increased, rather than diminished, anti-U.S. sentiment and the threat of terrorism. They must be brought to an end, immediately.
All people should speak out in protest of war. This blog is my attempt to do so. It will focus on war and peace. The postings are organized into several categories.

Congratulations! I will be a devoted fan and reader, with some commentary to add to your perceptive vision.
You are right, that more of us should speak out in protest. But, as you know,
even the pre-war massive demonstrations — all over the world — did little to prevent the catastrophe that we all envisioned. The corporate media, in collusion with the ruling elite, ignores protests, or throws a crumb on page 17. The 2006 elections, which we thought were a harbinger of better things to come from the Congress, proves what Howard Zinn maintains: Neither the Congress, the White House or the Supreme Court represent us, the people. So, what then??
